Iowa City is expected to get an incredible 4.5-5 more feet of water over the weekend according to latest predictions. Evacuations have widened to 4th Avenue in Coralville and officially are urging people anywhere near the River to move away- fast, as the 100-year flood plain is expected to breach and they are calling this a 500 year flood event.
All non-essential travel into Iowa City is discouraged.
1-380 has closed south of Cedar Rapids- and officials are warning that all bridges across the Iowa River are expected to close in the next couple of days. North Liberty residents are being asked to conserve water.
Per the Gazette, 24,000 people have been evacuated from Cedar Rapids and the city will probably have to issue a boil order in the next couple of days. Crest is now expected at 32.4 feet.

**BREAKING: Benton Street and Burlington Street Bridges in Iowa City are closing down, per the Daily Iowan and the Gazette- this means the only route between east-west of Iowa City is I-80. The University of Iowa has ordered all employees to stay home, cancelled classes through June 22nd and is shifting sandbagging efforts south to protect utility facilities on campus.
