The News of the World

Sports: Portugal beat the Czech Republic 3-1 to advance to the quarterfinals of Euro 2008. In the other match of the day, the Swiss went down to Turkey 2-1. Tentatively, I'd pick Portugal, the Netherlands, Spain and probably Germany as the ones to watch in this tournament. Turkey v. Switzerland was a great match, though I did feel bad for the Swiss, going down at hole.

And, apropos of nothing much, Chelsea announced Luiz Felipe Scolari (current coach of Portugal, former coach of Brazil) as their new manager- the timing of which seemed odd to a lot of people.

The World: Nepal is now a Republic as their former King officially quit the Royal Palace today...

Conservative blogs have been beating this drum for quite a while, but there are serious Free Speech concerns emerging in Canada. Some tidbits here- I'm going to dig some stuff up and try and do something big on it later.

Abu Dhabi is buying the Chrysler Building!
