Fascinating...

...and kind of weird at the same time- but this article from Time Magazine looks at the growing trend of... elder porn in Japan. Yep. Elder porn. I suppose it makes sense in a way- Japan is one of the oldest societies in the world, so it'd figure that their porn would reflect what is essentially a reality in their society. My first reaction to this article was 'ew.' But on second thought, it's a blow for realism that I have to approve of (even if I don't necessarily approve of porn). Too much porn promotes unrealistic sex and unrealistic images of sex- not to mention objectification of women. Everything (and everyone) is perfectly shaped and sculpted to reflect what the porn industry probably perceives as the fantasy that people want to experience- so, I guess it could be seen as good that age is no longer a barrier to porn, at least in Japan. (It's probably not in the United States either, but there's no need to send me examples of it.)

Anyway: read and discuss.
