To add to the already bad news from Iowa, last night 4 Boy Scouts were killed as a tornado hit their Scout Camp in Western Iowa, close to the Nebraska border. Tornadoes and strong storms moved across Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska and parts of Southern Minnesota last night as well- adding to the problems with flooding in Iowa.
From Iowa City: Mandatory evacuations are in place in Iowa City and Coralville- First Avenue in Coralville is shut down and it looks like the Iowa DOT is prepping to shut down I-80 along the Cedar River.
From Cedar Rapids: Looks like power outages are widespread in downtown Cedar Rapids and some boat rescues are underway following storms last night- but so far, no major levee breaches seem to be reported.
From Des Moines: Downtown seems to have dodged a bullet, but road closings are on the rise in Des Moines, including major commuter routes.
More updates as I get 'em.
