From Cedar Rapids: Finally this story is starting slowly seep out into the national media! But Cedar Rapids is getting hit hard- and they're probably going lose drinking water at some point. Linn County officials are saying that water conservation could last weeks and there are about 14,000 people without power right now in the Cedar Rapids area.

From Des Moines: It looks like the Racoon River has crested in Des Moines and the Des Moines River is expected to crest by 1 AM- so it's just matter of watching and waiting and reinforcing levees and keeping fingers crossed that they hold in Des Moines.
